Musicians health and fitness

It is very important that we all stay fit and healthy and take care of our bodies no matter what career we may have. Whether you have a physical job or an office job you still have to look after yourself and ensure that you have a healthy diet and are always well hydrated. If you are a musician you are always called upon to be creative and therefore it is just as important to make sure you are fit and healthy to keep up the momentum of what you do. To many people they may think that it is an easy job to be a professional musician but they are wrong. It is not just what you get to see on stage or watching a performance; this is the final stage of all the hard work that has gone into this performance. As all musicians will tell you, it takes hours and hours of dedication and practice to be able to reach the point where you are ready to perform. Hours upon hours are put in each week and sometimes each day to rehearse, have jamming sessions and to iron out any problems. This can become a strain on the mind and the body which is why it is important to stay fit and healthy at all times. You could join a gym or go for a run in the mornings to keep up your physical fitness. You should always drink water every day and make sure that you eat a healthy diet. Research has shown that fast food makes you sluggish and lethargic so it is always good to have a healthy diet. If you are trying to think up new music or lyrics then it would do you no good at all to needing an afternoon sleep! You need to keep your mind and body stimulated so that you can be at your best at all times. It can only be a benefit to your music if you are fit and healthy as you will have so much more energy to cope with your work load and practice as well as being able to perform better on stage. If you are bouncing around on the stage with so much energy and vitality it will be a lot more appealing to your fans than if you look half asleep and drained.
